Over the River and Through the Woods...

to Grandmother's house we go. More like across the country! Yep, Izzy and I traveled to Idaho this past week and it was so much fun to see Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt's, Uncle's, cousins, friends, etc. Thanks to all for such a wonderful time!! Isabella had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. They read books, played outside, looked at flowers and trees, rocked in Grandpa's chair, and had some chocolate banana bread, yum.

Scout had his 5th birthday while we were there. Boy, was that fun at Boondocks. I managed to get really wet in the bumper boats. There were race cars, laser tag, skee ball and a variety of other games. Then we counted our tickets to get a prize:) I think Scout had the most...maybe Abby. Izzy had a grand time watching all of the kids run everywhere. Monday, we went to Tom and JeDonne's for Scout's family party and he got a new bike!!! Izzy also was sure she could help open gifts....paper makes great noise if you rip it just right:)

We also enjoyed some Sonic slushes, Papa Murphys take and bake and a variety of stops to a few different coffee shops......AHHHHH, awesome.

One of the first days we were there, we went to visit Becca and Owen. Owen was such a nice friend to share his toys, especially his basketball. Izzy saw the basketball hoop and in went the ball, nearly dunking it. Yep, she is a natural:) Or, so I think she is. We took some pictures of the kids outside...and Sam (Owen's doggie) joined us. See below for the exciting snapshots. Even more excitement was to come though. Becca and Owen took us down the road to the neighbors farm where Izzy got to see for the first time some farm animals! Pigs, chicken (baby chickens too), and a rooster. She was so excited. Lots of pointing and grunting. You know she wanted to say something. We fed them bread and other varieties of food stored up. The pigs were pretty messy eating so we had to stand back....yum. Thanks Owen and Becca for letting us experience that with you!

Owen is eye-ing Izzy's new toy and Izzy is sniffing the fresh farm air, ahhhh.

"Woman, you talk to much."

Izzy is sticking her tongue out since that is sign language for "dog."

Mmm, flowers are tasty.

Grandpa's rocking chair is so much fun.

Helping Grandma in the yard is fun.

I love my Grandma and Grandpa

Field Look-alike Meter

So, thought this would be fun to upload to the blog. I kinda figured this outcome as everyone says how she has both Chris and I in her looks. I will say though, that there are days when she looks so much like her Daddy.

1 year pictures

Well, the little monkey got her 1 year pictures taken. We can't believe she is one already. It was almost instantanious that she became a toddler, doing so many things independently and talking about everything. she even reads her books to herself and has learned a lot of sign language signs in the last few weeks. She is saying "dada" and "Sanka" and finally saying "mama." That makes mommy smile.

Our little bookworm (credit given to Chris, otherwise she'd be reading magazines like Rachael Ray, Real Simple, Martha Stewart, Shape, and the list goes on. Who needs books when you have magazines:)

Diet Coke anyone?

Don't worry mom, it is a closed can. However, Izzy saw my putting cans in the fridge and she started making a "smacking" noise with her lips....and started pointing at the pop cans. So, I let her pick one up and right to the mouth it went. This is completely her Daddy's fault.

Happy birthday to Isabella!!!

Okay, here are some more pictures from the weekend...she is a funny kid. This is a new thing she does when she wants to be picked up. Just look at those eyes.
I had to post this...she chews on her passy sideways sometimes, maybe she is teething AGAIN.

A new book she got for her birthday, pointing at the dog and making a "panting" noise (this is the sign language for "dog").

Oh, the ABC snail...back and forth down the hallway...hours of entertainment.

Just being cute

Birthday morning before church

Next door neighbor, Allie and Izzy at the party.

"Mom, check out my balloon...Sanka, stretch for the picture!" Good girl.

"Listen here Bear, you are my new friend and you will do as I say...young Jedi." Thanks Great Grandthings for the soft bear. Izzy immediately gave it a hug and just stared at him for a few minutes. It was pretty cute.

"Hi everybodee!"
